My Uncle Eric will be well chuffed if the young Prince is named after him. You won't be able to tell though, as the last time he smiled was in 1975 - they're very dour in Colne where he comes from. He'll be laughing inside, though, I'm sure.

In my head, he will be Eric. Even though I doubt I'll ever actually invite him round but you never know. I have done a talk at his grandad's house before, going on after the comedian Marcus Brigstock.

Mind you, I'm surprised that MB got a look in - hardly noted as a royalist, or a horticulturist come to that, I wouldn't have thought?
