Little storm around 12.15. Grandson was on the slide in the garden and nearly jumped out of his skin. I was about two feet away from and he climbed up me like a little monkey

Another massive downpour at about 17-30, my unofficial rain gauge shows somewhere between 4 & 5 inches today.

Don't think I'll bother with the watering tonight.

We've had thunder since noon and it's still banging around. Rain? Nope.

All quiet - and dry - on the western front
Rain not forecast until tomorrow night - another overnight downpour would be very welcome

Careful what you wish for VC the last lot here knocked a lot of plants down. There are now more runner flowers on the floor than on the plants.

I live on a hill and fortunately so does my son so we both escaped any flood damage.

This is the bottom of his street last night. The downside for him is, that's his lovely young lady on the opposite side of the flood and the bag she carries contains his .................................tea.

Sorry son but I had to laugh.

Yesterday we had thunder storms and rain forecast, so I netted most of the delicate stuff in flower, beans courgettes etc...... And nothing, not even a rumble of thunder! Forecast again for today, which down in the valley is due to hit 38C, up where we are a more bearable 32/34C. Which is one of the reasons we moved to this altitude. It's only a bit colder in winter, tho we get more snow than the valley, but in the summer it's win, win.

It's absolutely tipping it down here right now, lightning flashes too, and distant rumbles of thunder. It's really freshened the atmosphere and cooled it down a bit. garden smells lovely.

Started raining here at about 6.30 pm and carried on (and off) throughout the night. I reckon we had at least an inch of rain. The garden smells lovely and it is much fresher, although the sun is shining, it feels cooler. Down to the plot in a bit to see what it has done to the corn and beans - nothing but good I reckon!

Reckon it rained most of the night here too. Had a walk round our local nature reserve and the footpath was so deep in water it nearly came over the top of me wellies!
