I haven't applied my mind to the raised bed at the other place Chris - in fact I haven't done much there at all this year for various reasons. I'm still not sure when I'll be down there next but hope to see you there sometime next week - didn't you say you were buying me a drink

I'm pondering whether to put a raised bed around the outside - hence the random planks!!
The yellow bag is half full of sand and maybe creating a root bed with it There won't be much grass left soon

You could put a raised bed round it and each autumn fill with fresh farmyard manure - the heat generated would help keep the greenhouse warmer, in the spring you could plant squash in it, then spread it round the garden in autumn to make room for another load of fresh FYM - work a bit on the heavy side maybe, but you do seem to have an unending supply of strong young men about

I suspect the thought of shovelling FYM would be enough to clear the neighbourhood
The "raised bed" may turn into a cold frame though
