  • Around the world in 80 Vegetables!!

    Imagine that you are going to produce a TV series/write a book (whichever you prefer) and you need to think of 80 countries and the vegetable that you associate with that country - and why. A recipe idea would be good too
    By the way, don't wait to post until you've thought of 80 veggies, one will do to start
    And it can be the same country as someone else's!!
    I'll start you off with Russia (if it still exists)
    Russia makes me think of beetroot and Borscht soup - probably left to go cold and looking like a bowl of blood. On a holiday there, many years ago, it seemed to be served at every meal with a plate of hardboiled eggs. We were never sure how these 2 things were meant to be eaten - did you crack the egg and slice it into the soup, or the egg before the soup, or afterwards........ Still don't know

      France...onions and garlic,
      use in lots of savoury dishes,and mixed with butter for bread,
      sigpicAnother nutter ,wife,mother, nan and nanan,love my growing places,seed collection and sharing,also one of these

        Portugal ... collard greens/kale ... caldo verde (cabbage soup)









        Recipe/instructions .... Receita de Caldo Verde - YouTube ... in Portuguese but easy to understand
