I went for Garden club, not gardenING club, because ours is about being in a garden, not just about gardening. Most of my kids don't have a garden at home, just a concrete yard or a balcony


During summer term I put up pictures of the different stripy flying insects so the kids can ID for themselves. Otherwise the whole playground panics because EVERYTHING is a wasp (whether it is or not).

I also tell all the kids how to Bee Safe (stand still, don't scream or flap or run)
They're actually better at it than the adults are. Zero stings this year, despite having 100s of bees in the garden. Result.
