Fruit cage ?

This makes me smile: one of my allotment neighbours spent weekends constructing a frame for his fruit cage, even painting the wood, thing is, he never got round to putting the netting over it!

Maybe the wooden frame was enough to deter the birds?

I'll ask him next time I see him!
