  • Lottery funding?

Has anyone successfully applied and got funding from the lottery for their allotment society?

We are starting to look at ways to assist in funding a new shop/tool storage and toilets/kitchen/meeting building on our site, and this was one suggestion that came up.

Of course this has raised more questions than answers, so just wanted to know if anyone else has been through the process.

I haven't done a lottery application for an allotment society but I did one successfully for Cruse bereavement care once.

As Hans Mum said, lots of form filling and they e-mailed me and telephoned me personally. What I had to do was to show that the grant would benefit everyone in the community regardless of age, gender religion etc. (you know the sort of thing) but, it can be done and is well worth a bit of effort. Good luck if you decide to go for it.

We have Voluntary Action Oldham who'll assist if they can with funding bids. Very helpful!
