pantanto and rio grande,a few more,
what a lovely supprise and delight it is,to see them develop and how good they taste,a friend tried 1 of the darby stripe and said wow, just like a tom used to be,
I also have some millefleur from the seed swap,
The other year i save seed from a small plum one from the shop,it did not grow true, but is has delighted me in the respect of,they have grown the same for 2 years now, very tasty, can or table, very large wrinkly type, dark red, with dark purple/blake.ish shoulders,

Ended up with 3 melons, 1 is certainly big enough, the second may get there, but doubt the third will make it before it becomes too cold.

Its the funny cucumbers for me. Jordanian, Boothby's Blond, Dragon's Egg and an all female one that Darcyvuqua gave me. They're all lunch size and there's always one to pick each day.

The Blonde is missing from this pic but she has pale skin with small soft black bristles (please note - spelling is correct )
I also have one of Sarico's Caroselli that may be ready to pick - I'm not really sure Thank you Sarico

Actually most of what I have grown has exited me at some stage or another.

Very pleased this year to have such brilliant onions, from seed I bought in Spain two years ago. My potato onions as well have been stupendous. And the giant mange tout - what a blast they were. Oh and not forgetting the beautiful and fragrant Agastache - Korean Mint - from seed from Ryton. Oh yeah - sniff that.

Anything, that wasn't a weed. And everything, that made it. That which started off it's life in my classroom.

The roses, have bloomed. Summer and winter squashes, that have played a blinder. Courgettes, patty pan space ships. Potatoes, real life, potatoes. Chillies. I have never, ever, had so many.

But the best, was not the fruit and veg. It was me. I grew, because the plot, grew. each and every thing, that I have plugged in and played with; has been a part of me. Apart from the stupid slugs.

My peas, potatoes, popcorn, swede -a first, courgettes, alpine strawberries, raspberries
                    AND
Cucamelons, a first for me but won't be the last.
All the new things I've been able to cook for Xmas pressies.
But the gourds which are still growing have to excite me the most. They are so much bigger than I expected & hold so many possibilities.
Lottie & the GH have really helped me this year in my personal life as well.

This has been my best year ever. Everything has produced so well, except for curly parsley and I think it was old seed so my fault.

What excited me were Tomatillos, I've never grown them, eaten them or even seen them before and thanks to VC and the VSP, I have a fantastic crop of those. I've made lots of yummy salsa with them and chucked them into salads, I love them

Managing to finally get a crop of aubergines.

                        Romanesco broccoli... sooooo pretty!

Seeing the shallots that I grew from seed going from teeny, tiny, fragile little things to massive bulbs in 3 months.

The chilli plants I overwintered have been great and produced loads of fruit.

New pots earthed up with soil and mulched with mounds of shredded paper.

Massive, juicy, strawberries from a new bed of runners.

                        Lots of squash plants!

                        Actually, most things I guess! = D

This is our first year at gardening and have been fortunate that all our crops have been good. Except the cauliflowers that I s - never gave those cute white butterflies a thought ha ha. One nil to the catterpillars.
Tomatoes, spring onion, lettuce, radishes, potatoes, carrots and runner beans have made our day.

Borlotti Beans! Am reluctant to harvest them as they look so pretty hanging among the leaves. Have tried them for a few years, without success, but having swopped to a climbing variety, am looking forward to a bumper crop.
