Today i am going to plant out winter cauliflower and cabbage 6 off each i would like to know if i need to put collars around them for cabbage root fly i live in Belfast so that is north also is this fly all year round are just certain times of the year and if not all year round what months of the year does it fly please.

Hi David, there's a bit of info here about Cabbage Root Fly. They appear to be active in spring & again in autumn.
