  • central heating on!!!!

Got home today, and it was 17 degrees in the house.

I can hack it, but my 3 year old and girlfriend cant.

So I had to turn the central heating on - I cant believe it is so cold already.

Anybody else had to turn theirs on?

Not yet. We've got candles and the coal fire lit though. We seem to have gone straight to Winter from Summer, forget Autumn....

Put my heating on for an hour earlier cos the grandkids were cold when they got here. All tucked up in bed now, and me and the dog will be going up soon. She's better than a hot water bottle

              Nope..
House temp hasn't dropped below 21 yet... Relatively new house which I insulated myself, so it is doing it's job at the mo...
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

We have a log burner, and no gas fire at all.

I have a big stash of wood, but don't want to dip into that until at least mid October.

So for now it is just easier to put the heating on for an hour in the evening....

Heating went on last night and Monday for 2 hours cos I had to dry OH uniforms..... Tumble dryer being purchased next month.... £130 a month on gas and leccy is more than enough for my purse strings thank you very much - hot water bottle will be my new best friend!

My kids never stop still, so they're always hot - which is great as I just get my wife to put a jumper on (I'm still in shorts (but mostly wear shorts all year anyway)).

                        *tight wad*.

My old father describes me as being as tight as a DA (ducks backside..) - though that said I do think I am a generous person (just not wear money is concerned )

It feels warmer this morning. I hope it warms up a bit for September - I don't like putting the heating on until I'm absolutely forced to, the bills are so horrendous. And then there's always a fight over it; the BH sits right next to the radiator so feels really warm and he will keep turning the heating down or the radiator off. The rest of us are nowhere near it and feel really cold. If he starts that game this Winter, I'm just going move his armchair.......

Turn the heating down in this draughty old house and it's freezing within minutes. And our idiot landlord decided we didn't need a thermostat when he took out the anthracite boiler and installed gas central heating

I beg to differ my friend, your shaving routine is far from tight!!!!

I follow my father, and a phrase my mother uses, 'He catch the pennies and misses the pounds'. I'm very careful with the little things, but I'm willing to spend out on the big things. I don't think its a bad thing, if we look after the pennies they soon become pounds which are far more fun to spend!!!
