Hello you lovely lot you.
It's been on my mind for a while now, and with the current VSP website being temporary I've finally decided that it's time to re-vamp it.
I'd like to open up a competition now which will run for a few weeks. They'll be a couple of prizes, which I'll come onto in a bit!
The competition is, basically coming up with a logo for the new website. I make websites every day, but dread it when people ask me for artwork (I'm not a graphic designer, my best effort at drawing a person is a stick person!).. Sooo, even if you're not great at graphics, have a stab - draw it on paper (take a photo so we can see though please ), describe it (maybe someone else can take over and put the idea down into an image).
Edit: Forgot to add, any style, colour, idea and size is fine - it's completely up to you.
I know we're gardeners - but thought it'd be a fun means to come up with ideas - some may be great, others not so great, others just down right funny. To keep it inline with the whole community aspect of it, we'll vote in the winner then.
So, what do you get to win?
Well, apart from being able to be safe in the knowledge that you've contributed back to our lovely little community, I've had a quick chat with GYO mag, who have very kindly offered to give the winner a couple of gardening books and a copy of the next months magazine.
On top of that, I am putting together a collection of some nice seeds........ and on top of that, you'll get to choose ten packets of seeds from the VSP. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAnd on top of that, you'll get your name on the website!
If that's not enough, I'll buy you a cup of coffee, tea, water when we meet (Yep, that's your cue VVG.. ).
So, the competition is open, and I'm thinking that 2-3 weeks is a reasonable amount of time for our thinking hats to be put on, and a few ideas to start rolling in (please? ).
I know there's some very talented people here, and really it's a plea for help, but there you go!!
Edit: To clarify in 2-3 weeks (whenever the thread dries up!) I'll open a poll for the grapes to decide the winner! I thought I'd mentioned this, but it seems I haven't!
