  • This morning dry! And hope it lasts a little while as Mr R has agreed to come up to plot to do some measuring up for me, with a few to making some raised beds over the winter! And also to measure round perimeter so I can get some membrane stuff and make paths to help stop weeds encroaching, its really rough n story round the edge, but weeds still manage to grow!

Please stay dry for a bit?

    • Sorry Dorothy it's on your way! Dry here at 7:30 but raining now. You might have an hour or two if you are quick. More washing to dry indoors, what happened to crisp Autumn days?

      • Rain, rain, go away..... I wish it would. Last night, just gone eleven, it was torrential for about an hour. My chooks need wellies today - if'n it carries on they'll need waders and possibly scuba gear. I'm guessing the Levels will be flooding.

I must dig out the chocolate temperer today, and finish the table dawdler. It looks very smart, but I hate the bloomin' thing. The chocolate will take a few days to melt & temper itself so I should get the dawdler finished and have decided which chocolate bars to make by the time it's ready. The Boy will be taking a (for chocolate use only) hammer to a 10kg block of organic Belgian milk chocolate today.....

        Coffee?

Coffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?

        • G'Mooooooooornin' Peeps. Sunny-ish here this morning, but rain due later. Thanks for your kind words everyone. It's not an easy thing to have to do, and the owner should have made the decision earlier in the year, instead of waiting for the Old Girl to make it quite so obvious that She'd had enough. Very sad, but also extremely difficult to try and tell the owner that it's time, especially when they don't want to hear it. There are reasons why we all kept quiet, and I won't go into them, but it's still sad.

As for the Cats and Orange thing - it's quite well-known that citrus is a Cat-repellant!

I'm off to check the Chooks, then the kettle's going back on...

                • Arthurnoon!! Rain's stopped, sun's trying, vet's visited and I rewarded Mary (my only dog who can both see and hear ) with a walk around the lake. Lots more geese and ducks there now, they are so bold, walk right up to dogs and hiss in their faces Only in a friendly way of course!!
                  Cuppa anyone?

Its OK - No problems with Mary - but she has to have drops in her eyes 4 times a day (as does Rosie) and the vet has to see them every 6 months to check them over. There may be a change of eye drops but that's all.
Why do Vet's always find fleas though Do you think they have a few pet fleas that they plant on them - just to show how useless you are as a dog owner

                      • They always find them - so they can sell you more stuff to get rid of'em (who they kidding, really!)
Glad the dogs are ok though

                        • I use Str0ngh0ld - it keeps them completely parasite free (worms, ticks, fleas, lice, whatever) not cheap, but cheaper in the long run. Having said that, I ran out a couple months ago, I keep meaning to pop in and get some more - I'm a bad Mummy!

                          • Afternoon.....stopped raining for the minute - but probably not long enough for lorndary.

The DD used to work at a vet's, for experience whilst she was doing her Uni degree. She'll tell you they will always find worms, fleas etc even where there are none. Another good money spinner is the multi vitamin injection.

Just been going through my chocolate bar topper ingredients - didn't take long. Seems we have gluttonous faeries......must be too fat to fly now! They're full of fudgy, nutty, candy, caramel and toffee inclusions and tiny mini marshmallows. Purely by coincidence, I have a diabetic who's complaining his BSLs have gone up by a few mmol and a Boy with minor toothache...........

                              • Afternoon, today we've had hailstone, rain and bright sunshine on and off all day so I'm glad to be home now. I don't like it when folks are driving towards me with their hands shielding their eyes why don't they wear sunglasses or put the visor down, stupid people.

Jules will the same people be to full for dinner do you think
