    Hope nobody's been blown away.
Its been windy here all day with on and off rain but Mr Pots still got to play with his chain saw so he was happy.

          • Debating whether to put the heating on. Think I may just go to bed early with the dog and a hot water bottle.

                  • Chin up HH, its never as bad as it seems, honest.
All the best for tomorrow, Trip.
Oh, and I'm back home again after my evening out being edicated
Have been to the University to a lecture about recent research at Stonehenge including some interesting theories about the blue stones from Pembrokeshire and why and how they ended up in Stonehenge. Remember, you heard it here first:- the blue stones were erected as a stone circle first in West Wales. It was then deconstructed and taken overland to the central gathering place for Britain, namely Stonehenge, where it was rebuilt. Each stone weighs a mere 2 tons, much less than the huge sarsen stones (approx 20 tons) and would have been accompanied by feasting and celebration along the route (like the Olympic torch).
Cattle bones found at Stonehenge originated from all over Britain including Scotland and the west of England and Wales, showing that it was a gathering point for the whole country.
All very fascinating and thought provoking stuff - and it was lovely to meet up with old friends, some of whom I've known since school days
                    Mentally exhausted now though

                      • 'Twas interesting, Trip. He also discussed the theory that boats came over from Brittany, landing in West of England, West Wales, up the Irish channel and onto West Scotland, hence the similarities in prehistoric buildings and cultures, whilst the east of England had a totally different group of travellers from France - the east/west divide. Better still, he made it entertainng - no chance of nodding off

                          • Happy Friday to all Workers, Lurkers and Shirkers (and BM who popped in while I was typing )
The Friday morning sky report has just come in - dark purple over the city, turning pale lemon in the east where the sun is rising and a clear blue sky overhead. Looks like another fine day. Trees flopping about so looks quite breezy.
Had a dream where I was wearing a little white frock with a fitted bodice and a very full skirt like something out of Dirty Dancing - even in my dream I felt out of character wearing it. Now where are my scruffy jeans and old Tshirt...........
Have a great day everyone - whatever you're wearing

                              • G'Mooooooooornin' Peeps. Just a quick pop-in before the chores start. Our sky is blue with white stripes; left-over from yesterday's severely high winds. Today we have a wet, but rain-free morning to look forward to, followed, shortly after lunch, by torrential rain.

                                Now, where's me wellies?
