That's ok then, I'm not a lover of Japanese bananas anyway.............sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

I bought a £20 grapevine for £2, a £15 passionflower for £3, cyclamen and various perennials, all at knockdown prices. I did have one strong moment though, I put the Banana plant back on the rack
Coffi anyone? Kettles on...............
I think words like 'bargain, half price, special offer, offer, ' shouldn't be allowed!
But as long as you are happy with your purchases I reckon it's ok! Bargain even!

Bren, I didn't have a trolley to start, just a basket, until I saw the grapevines - there were 2. So I grabbed one and put it under my arm and set off, basket full of plants in the other hand to find a trolley. By the time I'd found an assistant who knew where spare trolleys were hidden and exchanged pleasantries about the merits of buying cheap plants, and returned to the Vine racks............the other one had gone
I spotted it in another trolley, and considered mugging the woman for it, but she was younger and fitter than me, so I had second thoughts. I tried to shame her into giving it to me but it didn't work Then she tried to persuade me to buy a banana plant instead but that was a poor substitute Don't know where I'm going to plant the thing anyway...........I'm overrun with grapevines as it is

You sound like me, VC - never can resist a bargain plant.
HH, I hope you enjoy the cattle market tomorrow. Is it really unthinkable to be single at your age? I mean, if you stop looking, you'll probably find someone. I think that's the best way. Well, I found one, and I wasn't even looking. Go with an open mind, and enjoy yourself, s*d the oldies and their impatience.
Kettle's hot, as I've just stopped for a cuppa. Decided to get the old banger going and mow the edge of the Chook run (hopefully for the last time before winter) and relocate the leccy fence. Nearly all done, just got to do the faffy bit that allows me easy access, but keeps the Dogs out.

Evening All. Been raining all day so I've had company on the game. Eldest GG went to work, middle one went to town. Chester got very wet chasing around the garden. Heating's on again and we're going to look for a film and order a throwout. Daughter and SIL are having a fabulous time in wet and windy Filey. I can definitely recommend the port and brandy, or brandy and port both for medicinal purposes (it settles a dicky tummy) and sometimes as a luxurious indulgence. MMMMmmmmm
Go with the flo tomorrow HH, you never know!Granny on the Game in Sheffield
