  • Even the slightest gap lets the wind blow in..........just another profound saying from the beak of a Chicken

    • Wise words indeed VC
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

      • Why, when I have the rare opportunity to have a lie in, am I wide awake?!!

        Comment

        • Wide awake and thinking about the busy 2 weeks ahead, decorating the hall and landing, which is shabby and looking tatty, clearing the borders in my Monty don outfit,as you do ..... taking chickens to shows, fixing their houses ready for winter, ( some need painting, a new roof, a new hinge...) I am looking forward to lots of horse riding, if I ever shift this mini flu jab reaction!

          • 'Morning Petal - and all the sleepyheads
Make a cuppa and take it back to bed? Being awake but knowing you don't have to get up is better than sleeping through it and missing the extra time Well, I know what I mean

            • Morning VC, petal and anyone else who's around, its bit dark, damp and misty out bacon sarnie for breakfast then i'm off to work.

Petal don't get overwhelmed with those jobs just try and do a bit of something each day until you feel fit enough. or you'll not have enough energy for fun things like horse ridding.

              • I did make a cuppa and go back to bed with I pad, catching up on emails etc. ! Good advice! I think we just get used to waking up early - my alarm goes off at 5.50am normally, so waking up at 6.30 is sort of a lie in?!

                • Morning all. Rain overnight, so it's soggy outside. Can't cut the lawn then can I?

Same here - Mr S will be so disappointed! No, he actually will Grey and overcast this morning, shall I go to the plot? I'll probably just pickle onions today. And maybe book a holiday for April .... need something to look forward to, to get us through winter. Oooh - I could order my seed potatoes

                    Have a good day everyone.

                    • 6.30 am is not any sort of a lie in! No.

Cream crackered. Pleased to say that Charlie was good. The girl leasing him did slow but steady events, and her little stepsister who couldn't get her new pony there (only been riding 6 weeks) did lead line events with him, she and he both did very well!
                      Ribbons were had.
Sunburn and lots of dust were had by me. A glass of wine, and early to bed is on my list.

Was nice tho, to see some of the 'not really top notch riders' getting some ribbons and just having fun. And lovely to see the newest rider (who has been getting a hard time from a very snarky girl on the school bus) get a whole rainbow of ribbons! Who cares if your horse is better? I've got ribbons!
Sorry, but I hate that bullying thing.

Smoke coming over our mountains, but it is apparently in an inaccessible part of the Great Dividing Range, and unlikely to come out and get us. Not so poor Sydney and above. I hear one death, over a hundred houses lost, and over a 100 damaged. And still going. Firies will be cream crackered as well.
Not a good start to summer

                            • Good morning, Happy Saturday........managed to have a lie in after getting up @ 5am thinking I was working..................I wondered why I felt more tired than usual as I had a late night (well for me it was). I went to see a Queen tribute band, they came on @ 9pm & went off @ midnight....................they were good though so was well worth the lack of booty sleep. Seems strange not having a lottie to think about but have plenty of other stuff on my mind to replace it. Have a good Saturday, hope it drags for all you workers............
