                          • Changing the subject completely, just made an unsettling discovery. Found a cassette tape with my name on it - so I played it. I must have recorded it about 1972 before I was married. I'd just bought a new hi-fi system and had it recording while my family were there - so I've just heard again my father who died more than 25 years ago and my aunt and uncle - both gone now - and my cat Lucy crying, my nephew with his baby talk, and me playing my ropey old piano. I don't know whether I'm pleased to have found it or not. Voices you never expect to hear again - seems so strange.
                            Strong black coffee anyone ...........

Sounds like an amazing discovery, but also a bit of a shock.

                              • It was a shock Dotty - just didn't expect it. I have some video tapes of our holidays that I can't bring myself to look at - but equally can't throw away. Strange how photos have no effect whatsoever, but the sound of someone's voice makes people real again.
