I did wonder why it wasn't closed, actually.. then thought to myself I actually don't know any detour once on the M4 near the foot of the bridge- so this minute I'm actually looking at the maps to see ways around it
Had some 60mph gusts earlier, but it seems to be calming down a little bit now. Lost one of the doors off the Norfolk greenhouse, but it's still there and the glass one is fine Phew! Fences are all still in one piece, so we made it through without much damage
I'll pop round the allotment later and see if the shed is still in the right place cos it's a lot more exposed round there

Well it is like waiting for the other shoe to drop. We have had strong gusts and rain between 5 and 6 am and we are due heavy rain and more gales before 10 am - but at the moment the sun is out and it is all quiet. Made even quieter by the trains not running and Heathrow flights cancelled!
Morning, we've had enough over night rain for it to come into the lean-to so i got my feet wet on the mat. I should really get into the idea of wearing something on my feet.
Stay safe out there and watch out on the bridge Chris.
Wild here overnight but easing now. Mobile signal off again, dodgy mast in our area. Just a few pots blown over in the garden, although I've not ventured out yet. Was worried about the crab apple tree as it is absolutely laden with fruit. OH decided to catch bus rather than cycle to work.
What a differencea few hours make, after a foul night, this morning is glorious, I expected to find the sea would be very rough so took my camera out but it was surprisingly calm. Sometimes I go down to the sea on a nice day to find huge waves coming over the wall, you just never know. Here is a pic taken at 8:30 this morning.
My blow away poly remains intact, just a few loose items blowing round the patio.
Morning All.....sounds like most of us got off easy. Maybe St Jude isn't quite a lost cause. Still raining hard, big puddles in the garden.
It howled and screamed around here last night. We got up to chook-check a couple of times, but the girls were in the most sheltered spot in the garden, thankfully. They aren't too pleased with the weather this morning though. No damage to house or garden, everyone in the street seems to be ok - we've been out to check our elderly neighbours and all seem fine.
Yesterday, I sat and stuffed twenty mouse cushions so now have a long rainbow row of them lined up in the workroom. A good day for ignoring outside and doing some more sewing.
But first.....coffee?
Coffee?
Jules
Coffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?

We're fine thanks Dolly the wind just sounds loud in the chimney but that's about it. Our clocks are getting ready to chime 5pm and its dark out already
unless we in for a belated threat, more wind was had before hand,we nipped down the plots with some more wood for the net frames, not as wet as i was expecting, the nights are coming in very fast indeed now,
