  • Artnoon Folks - no cocoa for me thanks Jules - or tea, before you offer, Bren
I have a big black and not so strong coffee, steaming away in front of me
Going dark already - just been out to close the GHs - their first bit of ventilation for a couple of days! Still only 151 days to go before the clocks go forward
No central heating on here yet - I'm determined to stick it out until November.
Hope you are all well and happy - I am

    • Spent an hour or so at the lottie this afternoon, cleared the bean wigwams and put the canes away in the shed.

Quite chilly over there, and the sun disappeared behind the HUGE laurel hedge between the allotments and neighbouring houses very early.

Just given in and put the heating on to take the chill off the house.

      • Sorry Dorothy - I'm in Somerset.

Right. Well. Yes. That didn't last long, did it? The minute my back was turned, so was the heating. Back to iceberg. Just going to get supper done & dusted, and then I'm off for a hot time in the tub.

        • Eeeeeeeeeeevenin' Peeps. Stressful day - power went off whilst I was on the internet this morning, so I didn't get finished. Then when I went out, every ruddy route I took was blocked by sommat. Took me so long to get where I was going that, a: I was too late when I eventually did get there, b: I had to get more fuel, and c: I then had to wait around to do my next job, as there wasn't time to get back and go out again, if that makes sense - Grrrrrrrrr!

Home now, and the Leccy is back on - everyone else in the street was on except us, it seems. Mr.G reset the trip and all has been well so far. Fingers crossed.

It's chilly tonight, with a clear sky. Time for a wallow in a hot bath, methinks. Hope the rest of you are warm enough?

I agree with the stuff you have said apart from that! 65 is not old!

I don't get half price hair cuts tho
I have to agree that nowadays 65 is'nt old, I still feel 19 to be honest. My list was somewhat tongue in cheek. However I am quite prepaired to use the "Im a pensioner" card when it suits me. As for hair cuts, I will fit you in with my barber but it will have to be a short back n sides.

I tried the fish and chip shop over 65 special and all it was was a smaller portion and if eating in house you got a seat near the toilet.

                            ^^^^ I wish.....

31 is just a bit more than half my age, but generally I only think I'm 29, although some days my joints and muscles don't agree with that hypothesis.

                            • According to the test, my mental age is 31. If you ask my grandchildren, they'll say it's 16 Evening All. Bloomin' cold, heating is on and it's toasty in here. The dreaded goose/duck/down/ whatever it is quilt is deffo not going back on the bed. I refuse to have the tussle with it ever again. I'm giving it to my youngest son, who can't afford to have his heating on and is physically able to wrestle with the quilt. It'll be nice to know that at least he's warm in bed! Himself is not happy, but I've told him I'll buy another one that is not so heavy for me to handle.
