  • Morning - well done to Sarz!
Missed the spammers as I was busy dealing with dog's breakfast and toileting. Now it is time to sit down with a coffee and the lappy before we head off for morning walks in the park.
First frost here - only on the shed roof. Dog found it a bit chilly so she is cuddled up beside me on the sofa with her teddy and blanket.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

        • Wonderful sunny morning here too!
Loads of people out taking country walks/running and cycling both on and off road.
Half term here- and it's a Bank Holiday here on Friday. Looks like loads of people are making the most of the good weather
What a difference compared to a couple of days ago!!!

                • Evening All! Not sure I want to go to the Norty step tonight - its a bit lonely there - and I have been there a year and nobody has even popped in for a chat

A few boring questions about hospitals :-

                  1. Why do they hang the curtains around beds so that the patterned side is on the outside and the poor soul in the bed has to look at the reverse side of the fabric - which just looks faded & drab. Aren't they the ones who should see something bright around their beds?

                  2. Why do patients look so small in a hospital bed? Are the beds extra large - or are they given Shrinking potions on admission?

                  3. Why do they put the call button thingy right where the visitor will knock it on the floor and set off the alarm? At least I know how to turn it off now

Ah well, very strong black coffee coming up - anyone else like one?

                  • Eeeeeeeeeeevenin' Peeps - cold innit!? The fire is lit and, for the second evening, I'm in my fleece all-in-one suit thinggy. I refuse to use the modern terminology for this garment, as I've had it for about ten years. Trouble is, we have two blond dogs, one of whom is shedding, and my fleece is navy blue...

You been to Italy, HH? If so, I'm jealous.

Right, I'm going to have a go at that silly quiz...

My Mum used to curtains like that, I could never understand giving the best side to the street and neighbours.

                        • I think it must have been a generation thing Bren, my mum did the same Evening All. Daughter has just been to collect Mr Big the pumpkin. They're off to York tomorrow and Blackpool on Friday (no, they're not taking the pumpkin) making the most of family time at Half Term. Getting a tad windy here and it's very cold, but the heating's on so I'm nice and warm

                          • Yeah, 4 days in lake como, with day trips to bellagio and Milan. Belliago was beautiful! Spent 4 days saying "can't believe I'm in Italy." Tasted proper tirimisu and Pinot Grigio. And pizza, rissoto...tortellini. Duomo in Milan is amazing! From the outside at least. Disappointed by the inside; lots of it was under renovation. Tried to go see the last supper fresco, only to find it closed!
