Bummocks - been too preoccupied to notice it getting dark. I need to go sort the fencing. Back in a bit...

Bren, we may have to have one last listen before we disappear in a puff of exhaust fumes Perhaps we'll get a mention again tomorrow..........
As for the weather, I'm glad its dark as I can't see the trees thrashing about. Apparently, there are trees down and power cuts around South Wales. Must find a torch, just in case. Not a good night for fireworks!
Hope you're all safe and well

I've been busy researching calming techniques for my gun-shy Gundog. It's thrashing about round here, too, VC - very blustery. We've had a bonfire out the back this afternoon, to clear the fallen tree debris. Most of our local organised firework displays are this evening, but I expect it'll carry on for at least a week. Evening all! Well the heavy showers forecast for today didn't really come to anything, but my goodness it's been blustery!
I took all the tomato plants down in the courtyard garden, and will empty the buckets into the daleks when I go the Hill tomorrow. Then I swept up and bagged all the fallen leaves.
I put the washing on the line with extra pegs and it's dried a treat. But when I went to get it in an hour ago, I couldn't tell that I swept all the leaves up - looks exactly the same as this morning.

Evening All, just a quick visit before I go on the game. Glad you landed safely chick and I hope the power stays on. Blustery and pelting it down here, but still lots of bangs. Found a solution for the boredom that didn't involve housework - I knitted a hat for my daughter to match the snood I did a couple of weeks ago. It's drying in a towel on a radiator. Not a bad afternoon's work. See you all tomorrow I expectGranny on the Game in Sheffield

Still here Flo! It would take me about a year to knit a hat Not even sure I could make anything wearable!!
No bangs yet - just windyness. Looks like my neighbour is about to do summat though as his outside lights are on down the garden - or a wild animal has triggered them.
Bren - I did it This could be my Challenge for the week - learn how to record something on my phone and..............how to play it back. That seemed to take a lot more finding Embarrassingly, I didn't even know that those little slots on the laptop were the speakers - I thought they were just dust traps. I may not have knitted a hat but I've learnt something new.
Enjoy your evenings!

Unfortunately the battering wind and rain didn't dampen the locals' enthusiasm for fireworks. They're still going off behind us, but luckily about three fields away. Poor Dog is a nervous wreck, so we had all the lights on and the TV up loud. I also put cotton wool in his ears, wrapped him in some clothes to comfort him, and let him lay on my lap. It's awful to see an animal so stressed. He's worn himself out and is now sound asleep on our bed. I hope they all got soaked.
On that note, I'm going to booger off - sweet dreams all.All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

Evening all... Got a bit done today despite the showers and the wind... Finished planting my onion sets in the garden, just have to plant a few at the in- laws now and find time to dig a couple of rows of potatoes... Maris Pipers and Sarpo still to dig
Also got my broad beans in...
Glad of red in hand now... Fire lit, so very cosy....I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

Wow Tripmeup - an industrious day. I just managed a dog walk this morning and a craft course this afternoon - good fun - and this evening I am so pleased to report that the pup has no problems with fireworks! She hardly notices - but then she is supposed to be a gun dog and it would have been a total disgrace if she was scared of loud explosions!Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Evening all. Pleased that your Rosie isn't worried by the bangs, Jeanie and really sorry about your poor lad G4. Mine sleep through everything except mealtimes - much like me really
No red for me, I'm having a cocktail night - orange juice and tonic water. Poor woman's Bucks Fizz I won't bother to offer it around
