          • Ok, you lot - help me out here! I have a salmon filet in the fridge to have for tea. Normally I would cook it in foil and serve with cous cous and salad, but now it is not salad season.

At my disposal I have leeks, parsnip, breadcrumbs, orange, peas, broadies, fr beans, rice, pasta, noodles, various herbs/soy sauce/chutney etc.

How shall I have my salmon??

            • Make it into fishcakes.
Break it into pieces after cooking and serve with pasta.
Curry it and serve with rice.

              I'm hungry now!

              • Cut salmon into goujons, dip in soy sauce and coat with breadcrumbs and grated orange peel - bake in the oven until crunchy,
Shred the leeks and squirt with orange juice and saute
Steam the french beans with a dash of soy sauce
                Serve with rice..........
Just made it up so it may be awful

                • Like those suggestions, G4, thank you! But look what I found on the good food website:Salmon with Leeks and Parsnip Mash

                  Salmon - tick
                  parsnips - tick
                  leeks - tick
lemon zest/juice - uh - satsuma do? It's quite sharp
fromage frais - no, but butter and a splash of milk instead, perhaps.
thyme - uh - dried will have to do.

I make up stuff all the time in the kitchen, VC - but this sounds a bit too 'interesting' for me this evening.

With boring leek and parsnip mash. Might go a bit mad a treat it to a splash of soy sauce!

                        • I'd squirt the salmon with orange juice, not lemon........
Just back from M0rris0ns where they were marking down lots of fruit and veg to 09p or 19p.
I have 6 nets of satsumas, 6 punnets of plums, 4 lots of leeks, some mushrooms, cabbage, lettuce, white radish, bags of spuds including Apache, spring onions.........can't remember what altogether but I'm sure I'll concoct something weird from it for tea
I do like being there at the right time
Tomorrow, I'll take some up to Mum - she loves her F&V

                            • Shut up you lot - I haven't eaten much all day, what with one thing and another. Hubby is home from his 'adventure' and is in the bath (that I'd run specially for him, and he didn't want ), and I've just remembered I'd said I'd get dinner ready tonight! I haven't mentioned it, and neither has he. yet.

                              I may have to grovel...

                              • I may not. I started it off, and he took over - as I knew he would. Bless.

I'm off now, sweet dreams all. G'night.
