      If I hear you have been hanging upside down from the washing line VC, I'll know what you've been eating...........

          The only nut I haven't seen a great deal of this year is Hazelnut. I picked a few on my walks which were all unripe really but pickings have been slim round hear compared with other fruit.

              Remember all the acorns that were falling from the trees a few weeks ago - they're splitting and sprouting now. If I don't clear them up quickly my garden will be packed full of little oak trees
              I'm amazed at the speed of growth - had thought they would overwinter and germinate in spring.

                Contact your nearest nursery and see if they would like them, they might even come and dig them up for you.

                  Let the little oak trees grow and then dig them up and donate them to people or church events, scouts etc.

                  Daily Express said this the other day;

                    Leaving them where they are is not an option - they're all on the paths, the "lawn", there are hundreds if not thousands of them. When I walk round the garden they're crackling underfoot, bit like a mulch that will grow
                    Here are a few sprouting ones I've just picked up, all within a square foot or so........

                    Does anyone want some acorns?

                      Do you know, we get a few winds & suddenly it's the end of the world:

                      He went on: 'The cold theme from the latter part of October is likely to continue into November - and for the vast majority of the month.

                      Well they are right on the money there..............it's beautifull sunshine here.

                                On horrible histories I think it was, they said that in years gone by we used to make a very indigestible flour out of acorns. The fact its indigestible kinda puts me off trying it mind you.

                                I'm sure there are a few foragers sites with uses for acorns.
