No they're open in the background using battery. When you look what's open by double clicking the start button you can check

Unless the app is allowed to process in the the background (via the settings), it'll hardly use any battery as they're "suspended".Comment

Yes, they are there running in the background but they don't seem to take up battery and its great to be able to open the app later on in the day at the same spot where you left of earlier cos something else cropped up.Originally posted by Alison View PostComment
