How do I get rid of this unwanted GYO header on my iPad?

Possibly the most obscure or 'non-gardening' question ever placed on the Forum, but does anyone have any idea how I might shift the GYO header from all the web pages on my iPad?

I agreed to look at an online version of the GYO mag, but even after I downloaded the app I'm still getting that now annoying intrusion at the top of every page on everything else I try to look at. I've tried clicking on the little 'x' at the side of the app, but it still refuses to budge. Any ideas, anyone?
