I had no idea that the buttons just popped off the keys. When I have to use a communal computer I use a hand gel on a tissue and give the keyboard a quick rub.

BTW I've popped the space bar off - how do you get the spring thingy on again?

It's OK, done it. Bit of a fiddle on a desktop keyboard - found a youtube video for laptops which just pop on and off, but that was no help so just jiggled and fiddled till it all popped back into its clips.

I've just washed a load of cabbage collars. Gave them a good scrub with the nail brush. Now drying off.

Now I might not be alone here, but I refuse to wash out my plastic before it gets recycled even though they ask us to do so to stop the bins smelling. I'm on a water meter, and that is an unnecessary additional expense for this tight welshman.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Further more, the water wasted (Particularly if hot) wastes more resources than the amount of plastic that is recycled.

^^^^ that's why I don't use my dishwasher. I refuse to fill it up with old tin cans........but, when you wash up by hand, its easy to wash out the cans and plastic after you've done the dishes

It is a little known fact that if you boil your old keyboard it makes a nourishing soup. Hey dont condemn me unless you have walked in an old age pensioners shoes. life is tough.

Ah but I have a very energy efficient dishwasher VC it only uses 9 litres of water for a full load.

So what's that in gallons - ? 2 1/2? Bet that more than double the size of my washing up bowl. What about the electricity cost - bet you still have your hot water tank full to bursting.

9 litres would probably give you about an inch and a half of water in your bowl, and it takes about 2 hours to complete because the temperature of the water is never in excess of 50 degrees. I did a study for my MIL a few years ago as I had a very similar discussion about the cost of washing up, and while I can't remember the exact results when you take into consideration tablet and liquid soap, rinsing and drying and cleaning clothes and washing down surfaces etc the dishwasher is considerably more economical than the bowl.

If i put tins in my dishwasher the labels block the drain filter and it floods the kitchen which completly ruins the fitted kitchen units, average cost of washing each can is about £200. buy hey I am green,

Thats why dishwashers have a grille covering the drain and filter Bill to stop wrappers blocking the drain. In reality its food items that eventually do for the filter but it doesn't take long to dismantle and clean.

Plus your dishwasher has a cutoff to stop it flooding, you is trying to pull my leg isn't it.
