I think the eyes are wrong. Any suggestions?

What about a bit of white on his eyes..........?
How does it stay in place Jules? My Nana's old fox fur had clips like clothes pegs, that clipped a leg to the tail. Its ghastly - I think I still have it somewhere in the attic

Moy Nan had one to when I was a kid, always found it a bit creepy, much prefer this one.

Looks fine "as is" to me Jules ,remember "we are our own harshest critics" as my old tradesman used to tell me

Sorry I'm late to the party - I got sidetracked with your lovely pics Jules (hope you don't mind me having a nosy? )

Cracking job, as ever! I think I'd leave his eyes - he looks 'cute' as he is, and the alternatives might give him either a menacing or a comical look. The ears and the brush make him, I think!

What's the fabric - striped cotton, or corduroy?

You could get some big glassy amber eyes. Or some of those goggly ones that jiggle about.

                          He is cute though.

                              Thank you dahrrrlinks!

I might try the white on the eyes - a few stitches with embroidery thread should do it. I do have proper safety eyes for teddies, but they have quite a long thread on them, like a wood screw, so they would be very noticeable and uncomfortable, even trapped between the layers.

Hazel, it's rust corduroy I bought in a charity shop in Stow on the Wold. The underside is off my 'body bag' roll of fur in the attic (I bought 25 metres off the 'bay for 10, it came rolled up in a black nylon bag, and looks for all the world like a dead body.....) and the brush used to be a Viking costume I made for #2 Son's Hallowe'en guise about ten years ago. It should be shaggy but I took a wire brush to it.

I didn't realise all of my photos were public.....don't think there's anything embarrassing in there!!
