  • My piece of land 100 years ago

    have found this picture of my plot taken i think on 1911.
    You can see our house its the second one from the front and the plot is beside the river right next to the lock.
    And this is an up to date one as a comparison.
    although its from higher up and not so clear.
    What you can see is how overgrown the plot is after years of not being used and how little of it we have managed to cultivate.

    Other than that, it hasn't changed very much in the village. That's really beautiful.

        Have added a pin at the top to mark the site of our allotments. The curve of the canal is just below and our street wasn't built then.

              Indeed - and just around the corner from here there were huge tracts of allotments in a 1929 photo, alas all long gone

                There's a back in time bit on google earth too...

                View .. historical imagery.
                There's 2000,2003, 2005 and 2009 for where I live.
                Where I was bought up there's 1945!
