                What an adorable little chap!

What name did you decide on in the end?

Hi FBI am new to this site so didn't know about your trials. I am a sonographer and have been scanning for 30 years. It has been the best of jobs to share the sight of a baby with the parents, unfortunately though I have witnessed time and again the pain on patients faces when I have had to tell them sad news. Fortunately that is rare. I too suffered an early miscarriage and dispute my so called knowledge, spent years still thinking did I do anything or not do something? I spent a long time studying embryology and sometimes I was amazed that any concept us ever came to term! If it is any consolation, the early miscarriage rate has not changed much in the last 30 years, which inclines one to think that it is just one of natures ways.
I so rarely get to see the results of my scans so thank you for posting pictures of your darling little boy. He has got the cutest smile. Congratulations to you both.

It was a hard decision to make. Girl names would have been easier; we could choose a girl name in five minutes after a quick chat, but boys names are harder. We managed to shortlist several names and decided to wait until after he was born to make the final decision.

We felt that we should go for a name that's currently reasonably common but not too common - not in the top five but in the top twenty.
A name that would probably be unique in his classes at school, but where there would probably be a handful of other children in his school with the same name.
A name that wouldn't raise any eyebrows.
A name that had some family significance.
And initials that don't spell anything; JMB.

                    So we called him James.
