It will only be a virtual departing BB............sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Well I'm some distance off retiring though I am about to reach what was once considered middle age. I do understand a little though in a slightly odd sort of way.
About 5 months ago I started my own business on my own, and its been a big learning curve not least because I've lost the conversation I had with others during the day. While I was not emotionally attached to my work colleagues you do miss having a chat about this and that and having a winge about what the OH has been upto, all things you can't do on your own.
I'm sure it will soon seem like a distant memory though and you will wonder how on earth you managed to fit work into your schedule. I remember my father retiring I saw a lot of him for the first 3-4 months now I have to book 3-4 months in advance to see him. Life moves on BM and I'm sure you will enjoy it all the more.
Oh and if you are planning on bumping off BB I've heard it on the qt that its ok with Mrs BB...she hasn't got his pressie yet and in all truth he's a bit of a pain to buy for.I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Tell you what Mally, just recently I saw a couple of long-standing colleagues who had taken voluntary redundancy and retired a few months earlier and I've rarely seen such a positive change in a person's demeanour. Each of them looked happier, healthier, talked more enthusiastically and just seemed to have had a weight taken off their shoulders. It'll be the making of you. I was going to suggest taking up a hobby like growing vegetables or something, but I think you've probably got that one nailed already..Last edited by WilliamD; 12-12-2013, 09:04 PM.
