  • Sunrise!

One advantage of getting up early to send Mr PP skiing (while I'm still stuck at home) is seeing the sun creeping up over the mountains.

It looks different every time! (Well, I think so)

          That's some serious mountain, beautiful.

I was lucky enough to climb a few minor routes over there some 40 years ago.

Thought I was good until I looked up Vignemale (spelling?) then sensibly realised I was not really that good and gave it a miss.

This is the Pic de Montaigu and is not big at 2339m. It was on my list of challenges for the year until the knees had their say.

              Beautiful colours there BB

I can add Chew Magna Lake the other week, not taken any dawn or dusk since

(Sorry had to remove the photo before it was used unscrupulously - not by Grapes, of course!)

Thanks PP - hope you don't mind us hijacking your thread?

I stopped for ten minutes to take those photos and got bitten to bits - even in December the beggars are biting. There's a Roman village buried under that reservoir.
