  • Sapphire Anniversary Present??

    Hi All,
Mum & dad will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary soon & I'm at a loss as to what to get them. Wondered if there were any plants with the word "Sapphire" in their title & if so where would I go to buy them? I've tried Google with no joy so thought I'd ask you all, I'm sure someone will be able to help. Mum & dad live in Dublin so I'll have to send whatever I find to them by "snail mail".
    Any ideas anyone??

I've got a hebe called sapphire. Lovely plants, evergreen, spikes of blue flowers - it's in bud at the moment. Got its parents from a garden centre in Macclesfield for my Mum & Dad - then took cuttings!

If you go here and type Sapphire into the the search box, it will come up with lists of plants with that in the name, and then it tells you who sells the plant and if it can be mail-ordered.
      Good luck!

Seperate holidays after 45 years he deserves a break .

Whilst it doesn't have saphire in the name two spring to mind. Theres a rose called SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY that is fairly easily obtainable it's not blue but it's nice.

The othre is a small alpine the only trouble is they've changed the name of it and I only know it a Lithospernam 'Heavenly Blue' but if you type that into google I'm sure it will sort you out. It's a low growing plant with the most vivid blue flowers I have ever seen and it's easy to propagate.

so there you go the votes from the Grief house

I think it's Lithodora now Nick. Why do they do this? Aggravating, ain't it?
