  • New Year Weather

It's mild (6C) and rainy here, but there is a new moon today, so I'm hoping that will bring in a few days of crisp and bright.

The north-east USA is about to get it's first significant snowfall of the winter with temps down to -6C to -11C, and my Mum swears we always get their weather about 10 days later, (her sister lived in NY state most of her married life so the weather there and here got compared a lot) so I predict a bit of snow about 11th Jan.

How's the weather for other grapes? Especially those in 'forn' parts?

    Endless wonder.

Morning MH, wet & dank here in Nestland. I agree with your mum that we tend to be behind the states by around a fortnight. Let's hope we are wrong........

      Happy new year to all.
5°c with clear skies and a gentle breeze here in Aberdeenshire. No doubt it will be wet and windy before long, As long as the whie stuff stays away I'll be happy, the only snow I like is on Christmas cards.

          'Tis raining yer. And windy.

Actually, raining and windy is quite covering the gale force winds and horizontal waterfalls. There are flood warnings in force.

And I keep seeing EA landys going past the house, so the Rhynes here must be in danger of flooding.

          Lovely.....

We've got rain but no wind with it so that makes a change.

                Morning all.

Clear, still and sunny in the Pyrenees -3 last night but should make 14 or 15 during the day. The weather forecast says it is raining here and will do so for the next week! I have washing on the go which is the first chance for ages.

Extremely heavy rain and wind here - which is annoying as I've been putting off burying a water pipe!

Still, i r window boards to pull off (why am I doing this now after my whole room was re-plastered!!!) so ill do that today and hope the rain eases off.

                    Getting worse here

The BH is going to run #1 Son into work in a while. #1 usually cycles to save on petrol & parking, but he'll never get there against this wind and he'd be soaked to the bone, regardless of hi viz waterproofs.

Might go with them and see what the sea is up to. I'll take the camera.

Windy and wet here - and the planes have changed the flightpath from the normal east-west so we must be getting southerlies.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Hi all, it's windy and raining heavily here in Ashford Kent. Been tinkering in the green house with my 7 year old today but my garden veg plot is underwater :-(
