Now that's something I can't do - when I try to flip a fried egg I always break the yolk. Is it because my fish slice is too thick, being made of non-stick stuff, rather than thin metal like Mum used to have, or is it just that I'm inept at flipping flippin' eggs

I think the pan has to be really hot so it seals the egg yoke as soon as you flip.
        Not sure though

Flip some fat over the yolk before you flip the whole thing over - it seals it all then.

My shortcoming - totally disorganised - now who would have guessed.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

The yolk seems to break half way through the manoeuvre, sort of as it leaves the spatula but before it hits the pan. I think it must be my technique

With my chips, I prefer a big fat juicy steak, and pepper sauce.

Nah, you need to be able to dip the chips in a nice runny yoke like you do with toast soldiers and boiled eggs. Think that the only time we got flipped eggs was when they'd broken in the pan so it put me off a bit

I get perfect boiled and fried eggs with never a failure.

Well SWMBO cooks em and if I said they were anything but perfect I would end up wearing em.

It involves a very excited dwarf, but is not really suitable for discussion on a family forum, BB - you really should know better! Nutter!

I'm in a similar predicament, Potty.

Mr.G complains about his Yorkie Puds, sometimes. Fortunately for me, I love 'em any way they come out; crispy top/soggy bottom, slightly squidgy, fluffy like a CAAAAAAKE. Don't even really mind overdone ones, either. Having an ex-Chef or two in the family means we never have to resort to Aunt Bess!

I'm a bit like Mary Poppins, when I try and measure my shortcomings I discover 'I'm practically perfect in every way'.

This only works if you use my measuring stick though, if you use the OH's it says something wholly inappropriate for my little ears.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
