I've been with Pipex and Plusnet, but am now with

    www.newnet.co.uk

It depends on what you want from a Broadband provider, how much you bandwidth you use a month and what software you use ie p2p, usenet, etc...

Try reading the forums on www.thinkbroadband.com - http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/threads.php?Cat=
also on the main site you can compare ISPs.

We pay £17.95/month for 12Gb d/l with NO traffic management at all. You pay for what you use.

Oh and their customer service is very helpful indeed.

We're with BT. Expensive but no bother!

I've not had broadband before, I'm stuck with dial up until we get rid of virgin cable phone line.. this Fri in fact.. then i have to find and get installed a broadband provider.

Have to get the info and make my choice before the phone changes over and i loose the service i have.

As for virgin media, they never pick up the phone when i press option 4 (if you want to leave us line) ... interesting that.

So nobody has any experience of sky broadband. They send me the most leaflets.

            BT Broadband -Option 3.
Never had any problems with them .Cant fault them in any way at all.
£24 /month or something like that.
Anti virus, spyware as part of the deal.

              Bum

HaHa.... I'm back.... ho the joy's of broadband.

Good points are its very fast.

Bad points are I've had to set up my PC 3 feet from the phone socket next to the front door because the cables are only 3 feet long.

When you next go shopping and pop in to your favorite PC shopee the part you need is RP11 it is a cable that fits between your phone socket and your modem you can get any lengh you want within reason so if you measure where you want to put your computor and do not cut corners they work just as well my computor is upstairs and the phone socket is downstairs the cable is much to long but if i want to move it there is no problem hope this helps jacob

decided to go with BT for the first 12 months on option 1, they all appear to be about the same.

the cable that is too short is the DSL cable, is that the same one as RP11... there where none in the argos catalogue so not sure they existed. At the mo it appears my only hope is to get a new phone socket fitted in my spare bedroom, original home of my PC.
