why close the thread and censor all those that haven't had the chance to voice their opinion ?

True- I'm sure many other peeps would have liked to have said something.
The problem is that other peeps get more and more upset/angry on the way.

If we close a thread, we get comments like we are being too ruthless, and if we leave them open then WWIII happens and people stomp off never to return.
We have many examples of both over the years.

I'm sure you can understand that it's a difficult decision either way Raptor....and the fact that we mods are only expected to be here one hour a day ( unpaid) makes WWIII difficult to supervise!

Having said that- who really wants to read/experience unpleasantries ...that's what the political forums are for surely????

Read the thread, it was just an exchange of opinions.

I know I'm new around here, discussion/argument is healthy, if a member can't keep civil they should be advised to try harder, why close the thread and censor all those that haven't had the chance to voice their opinion ?

Sorry Raptor but I can't agree - if I was a Mod I would have closed it at the first insult - this is a top notch Forum for good humoured relationships based on mutual respect - if you want to exchange insults go to a political site - I can assure you, you will get your fill of abuse and bitterness there - site I used to frequent had many good debates discussing important items but was eventually closed because of personal abuse.

We are dead lucky on here and I think you will agree we don't want to spoil it - there are many ways to garden now and the new ways may or may not be better than the old ways but all are worth giving a try to extend our experience as to what works best for us and we can exchange our own views and opinions without sneers or rancour

Well when I was at school they made all the really bad lads into prefects in the hope they would shape up, (they didnt they were like the Mafia) but my time on the naughty step may serve me well.
