Just thought of something that our local Council has decreed that might unite all - if not I will say nuffin

You have obviously not attended at the Council Indoctrination school for allotment holders - you have 30days to register and confirm that you will support, (no pun intended), the raspberry bush 5ft maximum height rule in future - failure to do so may lead to loss of plot and prosecution.

Please remember the slogan: "5ft raspberry bushes good - 5ft+ raspberry bushes bad"

                    • Our council says we can't plant anything that stays in the ground longer than 2 years, eg strawberries, raspberries, rhubarb

Does anyone take any notice of said rool ......................NAH! It's a load of cobblers innit

                          • Well for the raspberries dig a 1foot trench and grow them in that, at least you get another foot.
As for the Rhubarb, tell em you dug them up last week and thus have another two years to go.

Thelma - Wow - My initial thought was you are having us on.

I cannot imagine anyone else can come up with anything more nonsensical - according to everything I have read newly planted rhubarb will take two years to mature.

I am in awe of such thinking if I can call it that - I can just see them gathered at a meeting regarding the Promotion of Allotments in the Community patting each other on the back exclaiming: "rhubarb production in this area is down 67% this year - next year we will eliminate it completely" and "We have budgeted for £5,000 on badges with "I hate rhubarb" inscribed, to be distributed to schoolchildren throughout the County"

Thankyou - You have made my day
