This topic really took me back to my childhood. Down the lane from our house was a row of houses lived in by quite old people and they all used their front gardens for veg growing. I was told that it stemmed from the war when no growing space was wasted. I always thought veg looked just as lovely as flowers!

I have a plan to grow pumpkins in the middle of the lawn,I'm thinking very low white picket fence with a border of tall flowers to hide what's in the middle, but need approval from a higher beingHe who smiles in the face of adversity, has already decided who to blame

My front garden is a wild haven but amongst it there are a large fennel plant and a number of chive plants. However, I do have 4 planting pockets along the middle of the length of my drive (think I have mentioned this before somewhere) which have low growing / trailing herbs in them - very convenient for the kitchen door. The cats' valet.

Before I got my allotment I used to grow loads in the front garden.

We aren't allowed any veg in the front garden. It's a new housing estate and when we bought the house it was in the terms
On the plus side, that was only binding for two years and that passed in NovemberWhen weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
