    • Afternoon all,

Sun is shining here and not too cold now either....Was out and about at 6 am this morning and was lovely to hear the noise of the birds..............and not much else.
Seeing as I was up so early, I went for a swim before work....Nice and refreshing!!
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

      • Dog has just treated me to an afternoon nap on the sofa - comfily tucked in at my feet. Usually she is a bit too lively for a nap

        • Aaaaaaaarternoooooon Peeps - we've just got back from our walk. Soaked. Lovely and sunny when we set off, and the heavens opened as we walked back to the car.

          Coffee?

              • Afternoon all - good couple of hours at the allotment this afternoon edging a bed but more importantly got another member who wants a hut and supports half plots being converted to full plots and even more importantly have converted lady on the Committee to support both these objectives and to change attitude to be nice to other plot holders instead of the normal Committee behaviour of only talking to people to complain about them doing something wrong. This is a major turn round since I was approached by plot holder on Sunday as soon as I arrived on site, complaining about being harassed by this lady over a frame he had built. Also I want her to become the new secretary in May and this also means we are 4-4 on the Committee about huts. and 3-5 on plot extensions and the Treasurer wants a bigger plot so may become a convert.

                A really good day

                • Afternoon

Not done anything outdoors apart from messing around with sweetpeas in the GH. After that I've been in my craftroom making cards while I'm waiting in for postie.

                    • I've spent the day looking after grandchildren - bla@@y half-term. Tomorrow I will take them to the allotment, I don't care if it does rain. I am sick and fed up with being confined to the house (have had a rotten cold for nearly a week, but feeling a bit better now).

Good plan, help them use up some of their energy, and help you feel better, being out, I hate being shut up inside. You'll probably have to 'hose' them down afterwards.

                        • I succumbed yesterday and bought a three gooseberry 'twigs', from Poundshop, one had no root at all, so have put it in water on kitchen window sill, to see If I can persuade it to grow some, the others are pretty pathetic, so have tried to get kind and put them in pots of compost as a temporary measure to regain some strength before planting out on plot. Also done this with Redcurrant. Not sure they are going to make it.

                          • Evening All. Aren't the evenings getting lighter - wonderful
I'm down west for the first time for 2 months - very relieved to find the house and treehouse have survived the gales. Winds reached 108mph here apparently and a tree came down and crushed 2 cars, as well as several power cuts. Glad I missed it.
Have just met Hopkins, a Lionhead rabbit who was loafing around in my neighbour's sitting room. Looked more like a cat than a rabbit
Time to light the fire and settle in for the evening. Have a good 'un

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
