  • Oh drat. Lost my credit card wallet.

Must find a small bag that I can take out dogwalking rather than relying on pockets.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

We drink hardly anything when we go out these days - I'll have a couple and that's about it. Hobgoblin is a bit dark/malty for my tastes, I prefer something just slightly more hoppy - my current fave is Purity Mad Goose or UBU. Can't moan at £1.99 a pint in the local weatherspoons.

Oh no - do you think you've dropped it? Hope that there's not much in there for you to have to cancel etc.

I'd go for a bum bag for round your waste - a zippy pocket for keys/money etc, a pouch for doggy treats.

        • Evening All.....

Third roasting tin full of madeira caaaaake has nearly finished baking. I'm a wee bit impressed at just how level the first two have come out. Just finely chopped 1.4kg of dark chocolate to make ganache, wrist aches a bit now. Can't start nuking it yet - curry has been requested for supper - so I'm defrosting chicken in the micro.

I got loads of cardboard from the supermarket, so I've made the board that's the same size as the cake (A4) and covered it in cellophane. I still need to make the display board, and I'll cover that with gold paper.

I haven't let myself nap today in an effort to be so totally cream crackered at bedtime, that I'll be too tired to hear the snoring. I need a couple of matchsticks for my eyelids at present!

            • Only one debit card in there Jules - cancelled before anyone else could use it. Have some cash handy for whatever I need before the replacement arrives - the rest was all loyalty cards and things like RHS membership - a hassle but all replaceable in time I am sure.
Have also discovered what me being stressed out does to the dog! Hence my decision to be calm. Poor girl she hid in her crate when I got in - she needed to be in a secure place with a couple of her soft toys. She is fine now - with the magic word, 'supper'.

The good news is that the hand has two arteries and the other one will take over sufficiently. The block may be permanent or may eventualy clear.
The angiogram I had on the 13th revealed no blockages and the stents I had 4 years ago are clear, thats good and bad news because my shortness of breath and chest pains mean the smaller arteries may be blocked and they cant put stents in those. Looks like I will need more medication. I am sick to death of taking pills (Unfortunate phrase).

We have discovered that the fastest way to head count all eight cats is to shout for The Boy. He feeds them, so they associate his name with a meal! Even if you shout him to ask him to do something completely un-cat related, there will be eight furry yowling creatures appearing from all over!

                        • Evenin all. We have been for a mooch around three garden centres today I was planning on buying a propagator with my birfday money but ended up buying lunch, seed potatoes and general bumf. A good day.

Glad your wrist is ok Bill.

My two poochies understand breakfast, dinner, sweets/sweeties, biscuits and choclits. All guaranteed to bring them running, but it can be difficult talking to other 'umans when they are around.
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

                            • Went out this afternoon for an exploratory visit to many furniture stores looking at replacement sofas - and ended up buying 2 in the sale!! Now ... just got to get rid of the old ones.
