  • Morning all... Overcast here so far... Now what to do today?
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

    • G'Mooooooooooornin' Peeps. We have a lovely warm sunny day here, and I don't have to go out at all if I don't want to. Chum has sent text to say my Horsey chores have been taken care of, so I have no excuse to be unproductive. I do have to go and collect something I've ordered from QnB, but no rush.

Laundry on the line, smalls in the tumbler, and another load in the washer. Washing-up done, chooks out, dogs fed, and I've just had left-over sheepy pie for brekky.

Hubby has gone to work, as he is rushed off his feet, and currently fully booked up to mid April. This time last year he was booking two weeks ahead, this year it's four! He still won't let me retire, though. If it carries on like this, I may have to become his apprentice in order to see him during daylight hours.

      Coffee?

        • Lovely and sunny here too.
Just waiting for peeps to arrive to sort out our seed swap- only 4 weeks to go!
Posters and flyers today...might suggest we get the table out of the barn and do them I the garden. Problem is that it's a bit gusty so I can see the papers flying off across the valley !

Just spent an hour or so tidying up in the garden. Still looks a mess...

Yes please. Had some gobi roti post seed sowing, and off to the plot shortly. Have to come back quick to make tandoori chicken, sweet potatoes and steamed kale.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

Flo you could do with some Hurricane pegs, we bought some from either Aldi or Lidl not that I've tested them in a Hurricane but the washing hasn't ended up in next doors garden since we've used them.

                      • Well, I really am pooped now. Just spent a couple of hours relocating the Chook fence. They now have access to the arae of longer grass, that I left fenced-off over winter. Happy Chookies.

Went out there this morning to find a dead 'un. One of the old Batts looked peaky the other day, then rallied a bit. Today, deceased. I removed her from the run, and sat her on the garden table, on top of some rubbish that I had collected up. I weighted the pile down with a foldable wooden garden chair. When I came back from the Chook run after moving the fence, I noticed the chair was on the floor, as was the rubbish. Hiding from sight, and systematically plucking the corpse was sweet innocent little Roxy. At least she had the decency to look guilty, and run away as I approached. Little s*d.

                        • Just spent a productive hour on the lottie with Rosie. Finished digging over my first bed and planted a whole packet of broad bean seeds. Rosie helped with the digging!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

                            • My OH got rushed to the hospital several years ago while on holiday in the Gower. He'd been surfing all day the day before. I thought he may be having a heart attack!! He couldn't stand up, and was being violently sick. I phone 999 and they kept telling me to sit him up, every time I tried he was sick. Eventually the ambulance arrived and rushed him to the hospital ( meanwhile my twin boys had picked off every berry on the bushes out in the yard and trampled them all into the patio!! - thankfully the house owner felt sorry for me!) anyway to cut a long story short, he had a severe ear infection that caused vertigo.

Yes of course our ears are the part that control our balance, its mighty disturbing when it goes wrong.
