PS...........HAAAAAAAAPPPPYYYY Friday Grapeys
Haha,no not mother, having caused a problem the other day, by mentioning a wording shouldn't have and causing loads of 'spam',am worried about being too specific.
Anyway now sorted, a 'Sim' only contract, don't think they really knew why it had gone crazy?
Unfortunately had to walk past Wilk...........sons, more seeds and a fleece cloche later, I'm home with a coffee.DottyR

I had a pay as you go, in husbands old iPhone, suited me fine, topped up every 4/5 weeks till last weekend when it went crazy, I hardly use it,so was very aware it had gone silly, and very costly, new contract is £9.00 a month, and loads of free internet, calls, texts etc, so good really. I didn't even know you could get a Sim only.DottyR

Chester's here. His leg's still gammy but all wrapped up with sticking plaster. We'll see how long it takes for him to get the dressing off. He came to us after a bath so he smells of coconut. Bet that doesn't last either. I had my last half day of leave today so I've cleaned hoping to spend the weekend in the garden. If that doesn't make it rain, nothing will Daughter and family have arrived in Scarborough and the caravan has a sea view, they're thrilled.Granny on the Game in Sheffield

I can just imagine that Jeanie! No facility to skype here though, what a shame. Himself is a bit miffed because Chester is pretty much ignoring him, but making a great deal of fuss of me. Think it might be a bit of cupboard love (although he also knows I'm shangri-las IYKWIM ) He's barking at the slightest thing, I think because daughter lives in a 3-storey house on a quiet road so he's not used to noise.Granny on the Game in Sheffield

This Family History stuff, can really take over your life, I just so wish my ancestors had been more original when naming their children!
Yes indeedy - I was playing chess last two nights so all in all it has been a busy week - fortunately a successful one as I followed my grandson's chess win on Wednesday with a for myself last night which, with only one league game to play, means I cannot be caught for the 'Best A Team Player' award for the 3rd year In a row. I am looking forward to this year's prize giving to share the stage with my grandson for the first time.
The Senior's event at Ayr was a one off - first year it has been held. I suspect it is the usual Council busybodys having to do something to justify their existence, although some of the invitees who attended were pretty good. As I looked round I felt as if I was far too young to be attending this do although many of those there were probably about my own age and a goodly number were considerably younger. However having done my duty I can now get back to the allotment.
My Family History research is suffering a bit - I have a presentation to prepare about my Hunters who were Freemen of Prestwick and local tradition has it that the Freedoms were awarded by Bruce who held court at Ayr after Bannockburn. I have started it but it has taken second place to the allotment so must buckle down to complete it soon as the date draws nigh.Last edited by Sheneval; 28-03-2014, 05:04 PM.Endeavour to have lived, so that when you die, even the undertaker will be sorry - Puddinghead Wilson's Diary

One of the first 'history lessons' i remember was about the 'Battle of Bannockburn ,and Robert the Bruce!
I could really benefit from going on a course or something for some help and guidance, I did go along to our local history group, it was the worst presentation I've ever heard, no welcome for new members, they didn't even have any 'joining forms' just directed us to website!DottyR
