          • Back from work and although my daughter and her family are back from Scarborough, Chester is still here until tomorrow. It's grey here too. We did see some sunshine for about 5 minutes this afternoon. Better go and see about some food - I think it'll be a freezer raid tonight. Hi Lottie, nice to see you

            • Well, I've made curried chickpeas as I didn't fancy currier aubergine, Flo. Think I should have cooked the chickpeas for longer though. In far too much potatoes pain to care if there is a lack of salt.

              • Hi Flo how is Chester doing? I wish I could see him, I love to see other people's Springers!

I called in at the shops on the way home from the lottie this afternoon and spotted one of the kids from my Gardening Club school waiting outside the shop with his siblings. He gave me a nice smile and a wave so I went back to the car and got Rosie out and took her to meet him. Oh my goodness, three of them loving her to bits and she was so nice, polite and shy with a few little face licks and hand licks to make them happy. This dog has a huge fan club.

Put mine out at lunchtime and by the time HH's splitter splatter reached here at sixish it was nice and dry.

Coffee for me, please, VC - I'm doing the invoicing this evening, and we all know how much I love that little job. Not.

                    • Oh bless him, Flo! He has much better markings than Rosie - he looks like a really lovely boy. Reading the breed standard, her eyes are too yellow/ green and her nose is not solid brown. I think that was why Rosie and her three siblings ended up as rescue puppies... my good fortune

Had to chuckle today when the young lad from school said he had never met a dog with a brown nose before

ETA one bonus of having a light eyed dog is that I can tell when she has flashed me a look which means I know she hears me - with a dark eye you can't quite see where they look!

It's also the last day of my "week off", and first day of a new job tomorrow. The butterflies are having a little flutter now - hope they don't keep me wake
