Just put the first layer of fondant on the caaake. I'm not brilliantly happy with it; think I may have rolled it out too thin. However, most of it won't be seen and *ahem* Lessons Have Been Learned I shall apply those lessons to the finishing layer. I now have an ivory coloured brick, with a metallic gold mesh textured top. Fingers crossed I can actually carry out the theory in my head........!Last edited by julesapple; 20-01-2014, 08:59 PM.Jules

Good result at the chess match tonight - looks like we have won the game with one outstanding result which will probably be a win for us.Endeavour to have lived, so that when you die, even the undertaker will be sorry - Puddinghead Wilson's Diary

Best of luck Jules.
And WTG Shen.
Haven't read back yet - I forget what I was going to say if I read first
Last 3 days at work - amazing how you can go for weeks working with lovely people, and then wham, all the ones you don't get on with are on every day They did get the rough edge of my tongue once or twice on the last day! They'll all be whinging about my now. Still I've a week off for them to get over it, and me to get my patience back. Really, really need to get sorted and go casual in April, I think.
Weather's slightly more bearable this week. Have the Folk Festival starting on friday through till monday. Busy but at least interesting and different. Daughter wants to have friends out, hope they come for her sake. Teenagers can be so fickle.
Garden is still pretty baked. Think I will just have to bide my time and plant some autumn things when it cools off. Have to work with the weather not against it. Still something is better than nothing.Ali

I'll be off out with the dogs in a little while. Just put my gloves on the radiator to warm up. Wish I had a welly warmer. I sometimes use Mrs snuffer's hair drier to warm the wellies but if she catches me I get in trouble. Mind you the worst thing she caught me doing was cleaning my Mantis tiller tines in the dishwasher. Seemed a good idea at the time.It is the doom of man, that they forget.
