  • That's the one, Bren, thank you.

They aren't answering the phone, so I think they must be closed today.

I wanted some of those rings for the top of wigwams to hold the canes together - can't find mine, although my guess is that they are in the back of the car. Better go and have a look for them - I may be gone some time...

So I've been planning how to fill the rest of my allotment. Black writing is in already, red is where the other stuff goes:

I need a bigger allotment! The other stuff is just going to have to find corners to plant itself.

Hope it brightens up a bit, lots to do.
Martin you'll have to think about growing vertically

Your right Martin, once you have the growing bug,and introduce more species, your plot shrinks.
With regards to the weather,we do need some more wet to soften the ground, and water the already growing plants,so cheer up peeps, all is not lost,as supposed to be nice again tomorrow.

            • Artnoon All. They were right about the forecast - chucking it down with big icy splodges and rumbly thundery noises - or is that my tumbly?
Not a good day to welcome my new little friends to the garden (more later!!)

              • Yeah, piddling down here and it's cold so I'm sowing seeds in the kitchen instead.

                • Happy Easter All Cold but dry here at the moment. I have basil to pot on and onions to feed, so it's cardigan on and out.

I see you ate the buns naked chick. Now that conjurs up a picture I could do without today

IIRC there is an ancient trading law that applies on Easter Sunday

                      • It was the only way they could get Sunday opening times. NO opening on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day. Well, that's how it used to be anyway. Most shops open on those days and I feel sorry for anyone who has to work on those two days

When my wife was nursing she used to complain about having to work Christmas day, but it later emerged she loved it because it meant I had to cook the dinner for about ten people. grrrr

Bet you had a lovely walk Bren. It's warmed up a tad here, but it's toasty in the house anyway as Himself insisted on the heating. We've got lamb shanks for lunch/tea/dinner/whatever, prepared by my daughter - roasted for 8 hours with rosemary. I've prepped all the veg and we're having Yorkshires as well. I dare say I'll be zonked out for what's left of the afternoon. I've done the basil, so a cheeky little glass of red for me now before we eat. See you all later
Just to put my two 'pen'orth in - I think the shops should be closed today.
