  • Howdy folks - just checking up on you all before I turn in.

Tonight's bizarre sight in the pub - a young lass with a mixed group of about 15 friends who had just had a tattoo. Still painful from the way she walked. The angry looking tattoo covered her front thigh from more or less bikini line down to her knee - she had on floaty short shorts one leg of which she had tucked up into her pants (so the fabric didn't brush on sensitive skin, I guess).

Apart from the sight of a fairly hefty girl walking round the pub in what was, in effect, her knickers, it did make me wonder how hard she'd thought about that particular location for a sizable tattoo. Assuming that she is not going to walk round in her pants for the rest of her life, if she wears any skirt of knee length or above, she is going to be showing off a *hint* of tattoo.

Perhaps that was the plan, and the generation gap has finally kicked in between me and what is normal/acceptable for young peeps today?

Nice and wet and squishy here...looks like it's set for the day.

What's everyone up to today then?

      • Morning all. I'm sure you are right Hazel, I hate tattoos anyway, but highly visible, large, colourful ones are even worse.

Young men/boys wearing their jeans just below their buttocks also annoys me as well as making me laugh at the ludicrousness of it, but at least that is temporary!

Your post about towing also brought back memories - I have driven such a lot of 'towed' cars ... a throwback to a time when vehicles were less reliable and I was less affluent!

Elder son is popping over this morning, I'm going to do domestic stuff like hoovering and ironing in few minutes (whoopee!). Visiting OH this pm and allotment site manager rang me last night and 'instructed' me to go on his plot and pick the rest of his strawberries "I want 'em gone! There's probably 20 lbs there. If you make jam I'll have a jar."

Can't turn down an offer like that can I? So I'll be picking strawberries on the way home from the hospital and likely making jam.

          Hope the barbeque goes well.

            • G'Moooooooornin' Peeps, from a soggy wet Shire. Hope you're all well. Still feeling a little jaded after last night's issues, but it's a lesson learned: Read the ruddy label!

I am quite anti on the Tattoo front. My. sister has a couple of very small discreet tats, and Hubby has a small one. Thankfully they are hidden, and Hubby is going off the idea of having his recoloured now that it has faded.

              Strawberry jam. Lovely. Happy picking.

              • Morning its nice and sunny here so we'll be putting up the gazebo
Its one of those instant thingies so it only takes 5mins from opening the bag. We lent our big heavy one to our niece took a year to get it back finally she admitted it was broke so replace it. Thing is we hardly used the old one it took ages to put up so really she did us a favour

Suzie I made strawberry jam last week but only had enough for 3 jars so I'm a bit envious of your freebies. enjoy.

Susie, could you maybe pick a punnet or two on the way to seeing Mr.SQ100,I'm sure he would like it & the staff would probably "help" with any excess As always please convey our best wishes.

Greenleaves, remember to take your fishing rod to Falmouth, see if you can get that bass that keeps eluding me

                  • Rain in France!? Quelle horreur! lol (no, I didn't check the spelling ) Chucking it down here at the moment. Luckily we have a 3m wide 'brolly' so I'm sitting under that, drinking a cuppa. Nice to be out, and we do need the rain. Well, my garden does, not sure about the farmers who started harvesting this week!

                    • Another damp morning here but I expect it will brighten up later.

I need to see whether I can fix our toaster, which is tripping the electics when I switch it on. If not, it's off to Curry's. Can't survive without toast!!

I haven't resown my failed 'snips as I thought it was too late - but if you're doing it, then I'll give it a go too.

                        • Sorry, where are my manners - good morning all!

Lovely summer's day here - after some housework stuff, I'll be going to the Hill. Good job I have the trusty 3-gear shopper to get me there, what with the car at the garage.

Would hope to be able to pick the first of the french beans today, and maybe the peas will have filled out too. , then rasps for sure.

And now BM has given me the idea of show more parsnip. Could go a row or too of carrots too, perhaps.

                          • Afternoon All

Finally checked in to my hotel in Falmouth, lovely grand old place.....but think I am the youngest resident by about 20 years.

I think the receptionist forgot her glasses today as she asked if I would like a free gym pass for my stay, the only gym I go to is Jims takeaway

Still that said I could always go to bingo at 7 in the lounge bar...

The bar looks a bit wonky to me so might volunteer to prop that up tonight..
