Greenleaves, we had a lovely old Fella that used to come in the pub I worked in (back in the day
). He'd have a headcollar and leadrope slung over one shoulder. I'd pour him a pint, we'd have a natter about Horses, and he'd slide off back home with a wink over the shoulder, as he shut the door.
An hour or so later, he'd be back in for a few bevvies, accompanied by his Wife. When he'd make a point of telling me he'd had real trouble catching the Horses that evening - they didn't seem to want to go in for the night, and he'd chased them up and down the field for an hour or so.
We never did rat on him - his missus was a miserable old moo!
