We're very fortunate to have the countryside so near. Sometimes it's hard to believe that within about a 20 minute drive we can be out in the sticks.
Someone found a dead rat in the garden opposite mine this afternoon. Ugh. Hope there's nothing lurking near my compost bins. Some onions I'd grown in a car tyre near the bins had all their tops chewed off by something. We have a lot of visiting squirrels from the park, so I had assumed it was them. Hope I was right.
Well managed to have a look around the plots in Falmouth and pretty much the same as home without the pigeon problem but slugs the size of seals....well thats what one of the plot holders told me.
What I am struggling to understand is how talking to someone transpired into me having a fork in my hand helping them dig thier new plot?
Hi guys, don't seem to have enough hours in the day any more. God knows how I will manage when I have a real garden to tend next year. I seem to waste hours titivating the hanging baskets, and pots. I suppose they will just have to get on without me next year. Had about 6 drops of rain, just as I started to weed, but it gave up and went away so have just watered every thing. I love these long summer evenings.
Dogs have masters, cats have slaves, and horses are just wonderful
Evening All.
If anyone wants rain, its here, now. Really heavy stuff. I think the courgettes will be the size of marrows by tomorrow
Had an afternoon of weeding - brambles, dock, hogweed, nettles, sticky willy, hedge woundwort, wood avens................they either cling, sting, stink or bring me out in a rash. I love weeding
Hope you've all had a happy day - was it Monday or Sunday?
Morning all, bright start today, don't know what the forecast is though. Had a lovely tea last night, smoked cod from Lids, peas and new potatoes both from my garden. Lovely. Had to use a candle to get rid of the pong though ....
