  • Hate to say this, but hope it's not quite so hot tomorrow, I need to do stuff! And need to go and pick more beans and courgettes!

    • I want it to be warm and sunny tomorrow because I'm going to the 2014 Thurrock Fake Festival where my son is playing in one of the warm-up bands, on stage at 2:20.

      Should be fun!

      • Just looked up the Fake Festival - sounds like a heap of fun! Well done to your lad for getting out there on stage!

Hope Rosie is now 'getting it', Jeanie - let me know the secret on behalf of mum's adorable Jack Russell!!

I have decided to do my 'homework' after housework tomorrow, but before 'going to the Hill'. Please feel free to impose some sort of media blackout on me from - say - 11.30am to 1.30pm.

And with that, it's past my bedtime - so sleep well, peeps!

          • Morning all! Shaping up to be a hot one again today. I'm just letting the Next-door's tabby have a bit of company before doing change bed/washing/clean bathroom/wipe skirting in spare room (inc. behind the bed!)/dust/vac/clean kitchen floor. Nip to the shops for the paper.

Then my homework. THEN I'll be allowed to go and play at the Hill - but maybe not until it cools down a bit this evening. Might be the day to pick the first courgettes too.

Hope you are all having a sunny day - I'm sure that the fog will burn off and the sun come out for you too, SP.

            • Morning everyone, lovely start to the day here, wall to wall sunshine. I have been sitting out having my yoghurt parfait under my new LARGE parasol. Keeps the sun off perfectly.
Having a slow start today, as we were extra busy yesterday, must furtle a few potatoes for dinner, whatever that is going to be. Tomatoes are ripening at an ever increasing pace, so this time next week every dinner will include potatoes, tomatoes and hopefully sweetcorn. Wish my runners would get a wriggle on. We did plant a tad later because of being away ...

              • Oh I love washing days - it usually involves me chasing the dog to retrieve the underwear she has pinched off the pile - today it was 2 laps of the garden with a pair of my knick knocks.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

It could be worse Jeanied, Rosie at least only pinches yours. We used to have a cat that would come home with socks!

Thanks for the reminder, just remembered I have a full laundry basket. Still too warm, but I'm battling along, slowly. . Don't want to tempt fate, but if we are blessed with rain in the next day or so, I'll happily be standings out there in it, with a grin.

Been doing an hour working on files in the In Tray - another hour won't sort it out, but it's all the time I'm prepared to put in today.
