  • I am reading Karin Slaughter - Cop Town.

I love reading her books. They are crime. Once I have finished this book I am going to try and read all of James Patterson books.

    • I am not a great reader of fictional books with the exception of the Darling Buds of May by H E Bates. Just love the notion of being able to go through life without a care in the world.

      • I've read all of hers except the new one, I'm not keen on James P.

I love her books! Especially Will Trent series. Her new one I am not really keen on. Maybe because it's not Will and Sara. It's new characters. I just can't seem to get into the book. But I am going to carry on reading it because it might just surprise me and turn out to be a good book.

                • I love my tuppenny thrillers when I am on holiday, but since having a kindle, I have investigated the 'free' lists on Amazon. All the classics are free - so I read Jane Eyre, and Pride and Predjudice in the last couple of hols along with various UK and US thrillers.

I am not allowed to read at home as I have no self control and once into a page-turner, I - er - turn pages until I am done, despite it being 5am on a school day...........

For reliable entertaining (and surprisingly cerebral) reading (in my view), you can't beat Terry Pratchett, and for non-fiction, Bill Bryson.

                          • Morning all, very bright here in west London for the time being. The garden got a huge watering last night. The path along the bean trench is a sea of red this morning. RIP runners that never made it. Plenty more still on there though.
First day that we have to lift potatoes from the ground. This is where my idyllic veg gardening could go wrong.
Will let you all know tonight which wee beasties or diseases if any have befallen them. The haulms are disgustingly healthy looking, so fingers crossed
Afternoon shift at Age UK, was such a busy day yesterday. Today might be easier if it's raining this afternoon

Similar story here, though I read Pride and Prejudice in my early 20's and loved it. I might have to revisit it!
