If there is only you on the policy, you can only drive one at a time. You could ask 'em to down-grade the old one to TPF&T, failing that, just transfer it to the new one.

When I asked M&S if I could insure this new one on temporary cover, they said that they didn't do that, but there were companies who did, but they couldn't suggest where to start except with google. So helpful.

If I transfer the insurance to the new one, the bananana car isn't insured when I sell it, so peeps can't take a test drive. Surely that's not a good thing? Or perhaps people do part with the thick end of a grand just on the sound of an engine in the drive??

    • Can't you insure the new one with a different company, and keep cancel the old one when it sells? New company will probably hold off on NCB proof for up to a month, if you explain your situation. I've just insured my Landy with NFU who are fab!

      • Hazel when we were with Co-op insurance they covered both the old and new car for a week, not sure if they still do that though.

            • Good morning all. A bit dull this morning, but not cold...may as well get used to it as going by the way everyone is talking and acting, the lights will go out on Friday morning if it's a Yes vote! Son arrives back from hols to Toronto today...there goes the peace and quiet of the last month!

Hi Petal, I'm a newbie here but I'm sending my Size 7's to give the big C a big kicking from me too!

Hi Petal - hope you're getting a good swing with that boot! I hop on from time to time these days as I can't access on the half smart phone and am away from home too often to have spare time.
Except for today when it was so windy not much could be done outside

Supposed to be really hot next week so hoping the wind drops and I can get some farm work in. The weeds inspector has us under the gun again. Bluddy man!

Once that's done can get back into the garden and chooks.

Least we've had some awesome rain here this spring. Hoping for some more before dry old summer, but a good start has been had

Ooops, seems I missed Rusty Lady as well - hellooooooo

Hello PeTal. I'm a relative newbie here so I hadn't met you before. You just keep kicking c's arse, we are all willing you on.

                    • Morning all. It's still overcast here this morning but we're promised some sunshine later.

I'm not doing much for the next hour or so except worrying about my imminent root canal appointment. But at least I'll be able to have a little drinkie later on once the injection wears off.

                      • Afternoon all!

Been out and about this morning to get the bananana car MOT'd (pass Big list of 'advisories' ), then to a meeting, and happened to drive back via the Hill.

I cut 11 courgettes (some far too big!), dug a couple of golden wonder spuds up, and picked a couple of lb's of rasps. Unfortunately, I did not have a container for the rasps, other than my gob.

Now I am going to the insurance broker round the corner to present them with my two cars/one insurance conundrum. Will report back! Thank you to Bren and G4 for your input.

                            • Evening all, we have had an absolutely beautiful day here today, sun's out and it's lovely and warm. Just hoping it helps the rest of my tomatoes to ripen.

You eat a lot of Spag Bol Carrie! Love it myself but OH has decided not to eat meat any longer. I have a terrible time trying to come up with meals.
